I AM MESTIZO
I am an Army Veteran and have worked in Hi-Tech ever since graduating from college. Growing up in San Francisco’s Richmond District, I had the entire city of San Francisco at my disposal. Depending on which friends I wanted to hang out with, what kind of food I wanted, where I went to school or where my sports teams were playing, it meant that crisscrossing the entire city was pretty much a daily activity. This gave me the opportunity to engage and be a part of many different peoples’ lives, as well as to learn and be a part of their heritage and traditions. It was certainly a fun and awesome experience that not many can duplicate today!
Having Filipino and German heritage along with being the first generation born in the United States, the entrepreneurial drive and spirit that was all around me growing up surfaced when I got my first afternoon paper route. Delivering papers after school and on weekends as well as collecting all the monies from my customers for their papers, taught me that working hard and smart along with providing the best service to my customers was the key to building a strong and loyal customer base.
Coffee is huge in both Filipino and German culture and society. In the Philippines Coffee is a staple beverage consumed through out the day, from first thing in the morning to after dinner evening visits and conversations. It is also a form of hospitality and social connection. Coffee was first introduced to the Philippines somewhere around the 1740s by a Spanish Franciscan Monk who planed the first tree in Lipa, Batangas. Similarly, in Germany Coffee is a staple beverage that is drank all through out the day. A popular German tradition is “Kaffee und Kuchen” (Coffee and Cake) that is an afternoon ritual where family, friends and coworkers get together and enjoy coffee and cake in a warm social environment. Coffee was introduced to Germany around the 1670s by a Dutchman to the North of Germany and soon after that coffee shops started to spring up in the Cities of Bremen and Hamburg. Growing up, these traditions were carried on all through out my childhood and now I continue to carry on these same traditions and cultural practices with my family.
We at Sacred Dancer Coffee invite you to share and enjoy our traditional love for coffee with your family and friends. We hope that you connect with and enjoy the same “Of The Earth” coffee experience connection we have with our family and friends!
Salamat po! Danke!

Kaffee und Kuchen
"Kaffe und Kuchen" translated into English is Coffee and Cake. In Germany "Kaffe und Kuchen" is an afternoon ritual where family, friends and coworkers get together and enjoy coffee and cake in a warm social environment. To this day I still follow this ritual here, and of course whenever I go visit Germany!
